#dogaholic layout for ScrapFX

Hi,

maybe you have sometimes the same problem, there is nice photo in stash and no good idea how to use it in layout. So that is story behindy my photo for todays layout – there is my son Toby and our older sharpei Caspian, three years ago, Caspi is so friendly lovely dog and he loves to kiss everybody and once I made this photo, Toby was back from small trip and Caspi was so happy that he is at home that he wanted to kiss him immediately. I think this is pure dogs love at my photo, I love it. So awesome friendship can be between dog and small boy.

It is easy mixed media background – I worked at 7 dots studio paper from very old collection, I made some background stamping, than I applied Paper texture paste over stencil with paws. I applied Distress oxide Black soot also through the same stencil. Than I just cut different papers as cluster behind photo. I glued it and I glued chipboards and made some splatters. For layout you do not need any expensive embellishments just good idea, nice chipboards and that is all. I hope you will like it.

Canvas for ScrapFX

Hi,

for today, I created a canvas with a photo of our 2 sharpeis. It is an older photo but I love it.

Canvas has got square shape. The first layer is white gesso, than I applied Plaster paste through stencil and Tattered Angels sprays, when I dried it, then I took stencil and Distress oxide inks and I applied them. I made some stamping, some splatters and background was done. Behind photo there is nice transparency and chipboards which are coloured with Distress oxides.

I think making quite simple canvas can be really fun.

Art Journal for Canvas Corp Brands

Hi, I would like to share with you super easy art journal. I want to show all beginners that you do not need tons of mediums to make nice colourful art journal. Just take some paints, old brush and you can create.

Products used:
Tattered Angels High Impact – White, Light Blue, Aqua, Navy

Derwent acrylic markers
Tim Holtz stickers
old brush, piece of foam, stencil, heat tool

  • With old brush apply different paints, you do not need to apply gesso as first layer. Just apply paints.
  • Make with old brush straight moves, mix light and dark paints.
  • With piece of foam apply through stencil two darker paints. After each step use heat tool to dry project.
  • Take some of your favourite stamps, black ink and stamp lightly background, just here and there.
  • With black and white acrylic marker make border.

Art Journal for Canvas Corp Brands

Hi, Kate Dachovska here. I would like to share with you my mixed media tutorial for art journal. I had that quote sticker – It`s The Little Things That Make Life Big – for quite a long time in my stash and I had no idea how to use it. But as usual, inspiration comes from unusual places – when I was doing my first gardening after winter, and idea of a background came to me; it is not a complicated project but it needs some time to play with all the mediums.

Materials used for the page:
Canvas Corp The watercing Can: Birds and Bees on Ivory Paper
Canvas Corp Spring showers: Butterflies on Ivory Paper
Scraps of various Canvas Corp Kraft papers
Tattered Angels Simply Sheer – Army Green

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Woven Burlap, Dijon, It`s Brown
Architextures Parchment Rub-On – Grow
white gesso, 3D matte gel, plaster paste, watercolour pencils, art journal block
brush, spatula, stencil, heat tool, paper trimmer, scissors

Apply white gesso all over your art journal page. Dry it with heat tool.

Glue different stripes of paper, make background as you like. Do not cover whole page.

Lightly cover paper stripes with gesso, dry it.

Apply structure paste over your favourite stencil. Just here and there. Dry it.

Apply colours, use any kind of Tattered Angels sprays. I love Glimmer mists and Simple sheer sprays.

Decorate edges of paper stripes with watercolour pencils and lightly use water brush to activate watercolour.

Instead of stamping, use Parchment Rub-on to decorate background. Very lightly cover some of them with white gesso.

Glue different insects and birds over art journal, use 3D matte medium.

With watercolour pencil highlith edges of insect. It is not necessary step but it looks nice.

Make white splatters, glue quote sticker and highlight frame around sticker.

Have a nice day
