SSS Wednesday challenge

For this week’s Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, I created a clean and elegant tag in soft neutral tones. The background is stamped repeatedly with the sentiment “I am so grateful for you every single day”, creating a subtle text texture.

To add dimension, I used embossed details that bring beautiful depth and a tactile finish.

I used SSS stamp set Grid basics and embossing folder Modern loop, different SSS inks.

SSS Monday challenge

This week I joined the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and created this fun mixed media tag full of texture, grunge, and a little bit of humor.

I used various Distress products for the background — sprays, inks, and embossing powders — to build layers of color and depth. The playful bird from Tim Holtz Crazy Birds brings a quirky focal point, perfectly matching the sentiment “today was great until… people.”

For added dimension, I included fabric scraps, lace, buttons, and bits of paper ephemera, all slightly distressed to blend into the vintage-grungy aesthetic. The combination of soft textiles and bold splatters gives the tag a nice balance between chaos and charm.

Creating this piece was pure fun — I love how mixed media lets me combine everything I love: paints, textures, stamps, and a little storytelling through art.

Have a nice day

SSS Wednesday challenge

Today I’m sharing a fun mixed media art journal page I created for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. The theme really inspired me to play with texture, color, and a bit of humor.

For the background, I used Distress Stain Sprays to create those rich brown and grungy tones I absolutely love. I added layers of collaged paper scraps, bits of old book pages, and stitched details for extra depth. The bold white “hello” script adds contrast and movement across the page.

The quirky little bird is from Tim Holtz’s stamp collection—colored with Distress Pencils for that perfectly imperfect watercolor look. I couldn’t resist finishing it off with the funny sentiment:

“Not only does my mind wander, sometimes it walks off completely.”

I think we all relate to that one sometimes!

This page combines everything I adore about mixed media—texture, humor, and expressive layering.

Have a nice day
