Canvas for ScrapFX

Hi,

I am here again with mixed media canvas. And yes again with our younger dog. You know dogs are really great object for photographing, they are cute and funny and so friendly. I have tons of dogs photos in my iPhone, we have 2 sharpeis. And this is Dobby almost 2 years old boy.

Canvas is 25x25cm, I glued over whole canvas scrapbook paper and covered it with clear gesso, to prepare paper for mediums. Than I applied paper texture paste over stencil. I stamped with white ink branches, and I made splatters. I took all chipboards and applied acrylic spray – turquoise and silver. And I adhered everything together. Just some steps and canvas is ready. Mixed media do not have to be complicated all the time. With nice material you can make simple but interesting project.

Steampunk canvas and layout for ScrapFX

Hi,

today I have for you 2 projects for inspiration. The first one is mixed media canvas and second is mixed media layout. Both in Steampunk style.

Making mixed media canvas is always fun. Here I glued different embellishments mainly chipboards and some very old things which I found in my grandpas workshop and also some metal embellishments. When everything was at place and dry I applied over whole canvas black gesso and than I used Finnabair waxes. I wanted to make slightly different canvas, more colourful but still steampunk. I really love result it is interesting unusual original. Try it too.

This is my first steampunk mixed media layout. As a base I used 7 dots studio paper. Background is coloured with Distress crayons and Gelatos. I stamped different La blanche stamps with Archival ink. Chipboards are coloured wit Finnabair rusty pastes. It is quite easy and not so layered layout.

ScrapFX chipboards:

Steampunk wall clock large

Spiky flourish

Fractured time

Light bulb transparency

#surreal

Tangled gears stamp

Geometry stencil

Mixed media bird canvas for Scrapki-wyzwaniovo

Hi,

this mixed media bird canvas is for current Scrapki wyzwaniovo challenge.

I made steampunk bird. Topic for this challenge was to use vellum, firstly I made some cogs with it but they are lost under many layers of mediums. So when my bird was finished I took vellum I coloured it with three Finnabairs waxes and with just basic paper punch I made tiny butterfly and I glued them on canvas. I think they are cute and interesting add on to my canvas. The biggest challenge was to take photo because rusty paste makes so blurry images LOL.

Steampunk canvas for ScrapFX

Hello,

This canvas was really challenge for me because I never did steampunk canvas. I had that photo (source Freepik) quite long time and new release for January was great to start with steampunk crafting. It is not complicated project. The first layer as usually is white gesso, than I applied structure paste through new stencil. Than I glued different embellishments and art stones which made awesome structure. I did some stamping and the main part was playing with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists in combination with pastes from Finnabair – Rust paste. Final splatters are made with Ecoline white watercolour and sentiment is by Tim Holtz. Whole list of material is at the end of my blog post.

Layout for ScrapFX

Hi,

are you relaxed after Christmas or you are looking forward to normal days after New year? I love Chrismtas but I also love our calm house without guest. You know. So for today I prepared mixed media layout. There is our sharpei Dobby on photo. I used amazing chipboards – Crescent Frame and Wishes do come True. Chipboards are painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists. For background I used Prima Marketing papers and stamps and flowers. It is quite heavy background but sometimes it is great to have dirty hands of nice paints.
